Safari
“Paraa Safari Lodge is in Murchison Falls National Park, North West Uganda. The 40 metre wide River Nile, on it's journey from its source at Lake Victoria to join Lake Albert, is suddenly compressed into a gorge only six meters wide, and cascades into a boiling pot 43 metres below. The earth literally trembles at Murchison Falls, one of the world's most powerful flows of natural water.
Elevated high above the Falls on the north
side of the river, the historical Paraa Safari
Lodge enjoys simply astounding views.
The now restored Lodge has been host to many dignitaries in its lifetime - Britain's Queen Mother and Ernest Hemingway to name but a few. “
In all things GOD works for good
Well ...where to start,
Our time at Murchison Falls was a blessing, we saw many animals and for me the HIGH was definitely the giraffes, what magnificent creatures!
Our time at Paara Lodge was a refuge, a place to rest and relax, and now we work!
Karine and Charlene shopped for some furnishings for the centre this weekend and tomorrow,or should I say today(it is 4:42 am) we will begin again to unpack and organize the centre. Another goal is to get staffing issues figured out.
The teachers are all very excited about starting a new fresh week, and getting back into the classrooms to do what they do...shape little lives.
We are so thankful for our drivers and safari guides Denis, Davis, and George, who all had a fabulous sense of humor and were great ambassadors of Uganda.
So as you probably have gathered there was never a dull moment, and from car breakdowns (3 of them) to seeing a male lion, we all agree, this was a weekend FULL of miracles and blessings.
Enjoy the photographs.
